Aromatherapy Improves Sleep, Anxiety, and Vital Signs in ICU Patients With Coronary Artery Disease

Compared to standard nursing care, a combination of lavender, chamomile, and neroli was significantly more effective in reducing anxiety levels, improving sleep quality, and stabilizing blood pressure in the participating coronary artery disease patients who underwent coronary angiography and stent insertion. Aromatherapy Decreases Anxiety Before Surgery

Participating subjects exposed to bergamot essential oil aromatherapy showed a greater reduction in preoperative anxiety than those in the control groups thus demonstrating the potential benefits of  aromatherapy as part of a holistic approach to reducing preoperative anxiety before ambulatory surgery.
