Scallop-Derived Plasmalogen Improves Cognitive Functioning in Patients With Mild Alzheimer’s Disease

Of the study participants with mild Alzheimers, those who supplemented with a scallop-derived plasmalogen significantly improved their memory compared to the control group. Ayurvedic Herb May Benefit Cognition and Overall Mental Health in the Elderly

Written by Greg Arnold, DC, CSCS. A 12-week supplementation with Bacopa (3 mg daily) significantly improved the reaction time, anxiety, and depression in 24 participating subjects who were diagnosed “free of dementia symptoms”. However, the greatest improvement was seen in cognition, which was exemplified by a significant 17.35% improvement in “word recall”, compared to placebo. (more…)
