ACN 56th Annual Conference – “Translational Health: Optimizing Brain Health”  November 11-13 2015 Orlando, Florida

The NHRI was a co-sponsor at the 56th Annual American College of Nutrition Conference – November 11-13, 2015 in Orlando, FL. This 3-day conference held 6 sessions including some of the world’s leading scientists and nutritionists presenting topics on; 1) nutrition for the developing brain, 2) the gut/brain axis, 3) nutrient therapies for brain health, co-sponsored by the NHRI,  4) brain related disorder: nutritional assessment and therapies, 5) nutrition and the eye, and 6) nutrition in slowing progression/reversing cognitive dysfunction.

AOCS Annual Meeting  Research on Fatty Acids in Human Health and Function sponsored by the NHRI   May 3-6, 2015 Orlando, Florida

The NHRI sponsored a seminar at the AOCS meeting, held May 3-6, 2015 in Orlando, Florida. This covered some of the most exciting contemporary topics on human health and function as modified by a family of omega-3 fatty acids. Speakers covered how omega-3 fatty acids remain the cornerstone of health and how diet and lifestyle affect lipoprotein balance in the body and how an imbalance affects heart health as well as neurocognitive function. Topics included the importance of ketone metabolism, especially acetate in health.
